Toyin Oyebola started Genesis Exotic Market now widely known as GEM in 2017 to provide commercial services to meet the dietary and fashion needs of immigrants with nostalgia, and to the generality of Canadians with adventurous taste.
This one stop commercial center which is located in the Lethbridge, captures the needs of its customers and provides adequate solution.

GEM has remained a hub for the black community, most especially new immigrants and International students.

GEM provides employment to young people in the community especially International students who have difficulties securing good jobs because of their lack of Canadian experience. GEM gives them opportunities and referral for job as times goes on.

Toyin Oyebola takes it upon herself to connect her customers/clients to the appropriate resources as needed. She has been able to build enough trust in the community that people feel comfortable to share their deepest secrets with her. Toyin is able to connect her clients to appropriate resources and provides solution to problems in the community.

Even through COVID 19, GEM stayed opened and served their clientele with compassion and empathy, and they achieved this by adopting free home delivery within Lethbridge.
GEM gives christmas gifts to her customers at the end of every year to show appreciation for their patronage and support through the year.
